1893 World's Columbian Exposition Admittance Tickets and Related Items PCGS Graded.The World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago celebrated the 400th Anniversary of Columbus's arrival in the New World. It was a defining moment not only for Chicago, but for the entire country despite the fact the country was facing a huge financial crisis at the time. London and Paris had previously held very successful fairs and the pressure was extraordinary for those involved in the Chicago event to eclipse those previous occurrences. Despite enormous obstacles, Daniel Burnham managed to create a spectacular exposition.
A total of eighteen pieces of World's Columbian Exposition tickets and assorted materials are contained in this lot, including a complete set of admission tickets; among them the rarer "A" series tickets and the scarcer Franklin and Handel pieces. All of the individual items have been graded by PCGS.
