Inverted Back and Misaligned Underprint Error

Double Error Inverted Back and Misaligned Underprint Series 611 $5 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
One of a paltry three known examples of this rare error, this piece was discovered by our consignor in 2004. This trio and two Series 541 10¢ inverts are the only MPC inverts known. The inverted back is stunning in itself, but the misaligned underprint only adds to the desirability of this MPC, as there is an error to study no matter which side of the note you look at. The error on the face is actually an inverted blue underprint. This resulted in a partially uninked crescent at top center above the portrait frame and another partially uninked area that starts just outside the lower left "5" counter and proceeds through the serial number of H01600743H, then beneath the portrait, and it continues until it reaches the lower right "5" counter. Simply a great error, it was the most cherished piece in our consignor's collection. The preceeding "bookend" note comes with this lot, and it grades PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Both notes are in a multi-note holder, and thus the two notes are counted as a single item.
