    Description

    Fr. 366 $10 1890 "Sheridan" Ornate Back

Fr. 366 $10 1890 Treasury Note PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
An 1890 $10 ornate back Treasury Note that complements the others in this grade range cataloged here. The subject of the central portrait, engraved by Lorenzo Hatch, is General Phillip Sheridan. The large brown treasury seal is at the right end of this initial series type. The ornate TEN across the center of the green back has fine floral details within. The circulation is quite modest, and this is a colorful example. Ex: Kagin's, May 1988 sale, lot 2394.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
