    Description

Vivid Fr. 311 $20 "Decatur" Note

Fr. 311 $20 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 25.
A relatively available "Decatur" note with approximately 150 known. The face has the distinctive large brown treasury seal and "XX" protector directly below. The back is similar to the $10 notes with SILVER across. Grading notes a "Minor Tape Repair," is visible on the back top edge. This example faces up vividly, particularly the overprints. Like many rare types Mike owns, a Dean Oakes catalog purchase (1990).
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.

    Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.
