Unlike its compatriots Fr. 261 and Fr. 263, Fr. 264 is a prohibitively rare number in the $5 Silver Dollar Back world, with PCGS having graded one example in Gem New 65PPQ with none higher and PMG having graded just one example in Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ, with none higher. Neither example has previously been offered at public sale, with this piece, which is the lone PMG representative, having been graded early in PMG's life, where only the grade was placed on the front of the holder, and the comments such as EPQ were relegated to the back. PMG comments here "Exceptional Paper Quality, Good Color," both of which are totally on the mark. With the last Very Choice 64PPQ example to cross the auction block fetching $16,450 in our 2015 FUN Auction, expect this as yet unchallenged Top Pop Fr. 264 to easily reach and quite likely exceed...
