Fr. 256 $2 1899 Silver Certificate Superb Gem New. A simply flawless example of the type, with huge margins, perfect color, spectacularly deep original embossing and the single-digit serial number N8. Serial numbers 1 through 4 are part of a Cut Sheet that had been owned by Amon Carter. The serial-number 5 note has never been reported. Number 6 is known from a 1949 Kagin sale, and number 9 was part of the Grinnell Collection. Sometime during the late 1940's, Malcolm Trask located and purchased this absolutely perfect Serial Number 8 example. It has been unavailable to collectors since that time, and we expect this evening that it will be actively pursued by current-day collectors.
From the collection of Malcolm A. Trask.
