Virtually Flawless PCGS 68PPQ Two Dollar 1886 William Windom Deuce

Fr. 246 $2 1891 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 68PPQ.
PCGS has graded just over 200 Fr. 246s with this and two others reaching the 68PPQ grade with, of course, none graded higher. There is no need to list all the positive attributes of this note as everything one could say about it is already announced by the 68PPQ grade. Suffice it to say that the grade was more than earned by this incredible note. William Windom, whose portrait graces this note, was a Senator from the state of Minnesota. He was also the great grandfather of the well-known actor of the same name who was popular from the 1960s until the turn of our current century. The only other PCGS 68 to reach the market was auctioned in November of 2007 for $22,425. With none available for the past decade, we would certainly expect a considerably higher realization this evening.
