Superb Gem New PCGS 67PPQ Windom Deuce

Fr. 245 $2 1891 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. Windoms do tend to come nice, but very few are as nice as this piece. Incredible engraving quality imparts a photographic-like appearance to the William Windom portrait. The margins are huge, and the colors are nothing short of spectacular. The back centering is every bit as good as the face, and the note would prove to be a treasure for the perfectionist. PCGS has agreed and assigned this note its 67PPQ level which verbally equates to Superb Gem New. There are a few others at this grade level from both services, and when they appear at action, prices cluster in the mid-teens. The market for high-end Type notes is reorganizing, and if the time has come for 67 Windoms to reach the $20,000 mark, this should be the one--it's an incredible note!
