    Exquisitely Original Hancock Deuce

Fr. 243 $2 1886 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.
Massive margins, brilliant color, and outstanding punch-through embossing are just three of the countless features of this Hancock Deuce that would look just as at home in an even higher graded holder. This note certainly leaves nothing to be desired, as any observer would be hard pressed to find any flaw in this Superb Gem example of this popular type. With only three notes graded higher by either grading service, this is a Deuce worthy of the man depicted on it, General Winfield Scott Hancock. General Hancock was known among his Army colleagues as "Hancock the Superb." It seems clear now that that title is just as applicable to this note as it was to the man.
