    Description

Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ Fr. 219 $1 Martha

Fr. 219 $1 1886 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
A lovely large brown seal Martha which is by no means easily found in this grade. It is one of a mere six pieces graded at this level by PMG with none finer, while PCGS has graded a mere two notes at the 66 level and a single note at the 67 level. However, it is hard to believe that any other example could exceed the beauty of this widely margined and well centered piece that features vibrant color and pristine paper surfaces. The last 66 EPQ specimen to cross the auction block was in our 2014 FUN auction where that offering realized over $11,000.
