Fr. 64 $5 1869 Legal Tender PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
A beautiful plate letter B Rainbow Woodchopper, this piece displays wonderful blue tint paper and green and red inks that earned this design its "Rainbow" nickname. This example is from a run of high grade notes. PMG has graded 558 Fr. 64 pieces, but only 13 others have graded 66 EPQ and just three have graded higher, with all three earning a grade of 67 EPQ. If one looks at the entire Woodchopper design that encompasses Friedberg numbers 64-92*, we see that PMG has graded only 33 notes higher than our current offering. The last two Rainbow Woodchoppers that we have offered at this grade level have each achieved a realization of $16,800.
