Fr. 129 $20 1878 Legal Tender PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Unc 67
PPQ.Hugely margined, with excellent centering of both sides and a deep blue security stain. The red overprint is bright and sharp, and the eye appeal is terrific, making this piece worthy of the assigned grade. Friedberg 129 is a number that comes nice, however, no examples have been graded above the 67 level by either of the major services. The last Superb Gem that we offered, which was housed in an "old" PCGS 67PPQ holder, brought $13,800 in our 2018 FUN auction.
