Serial Number One New Series 14 Friedberg 126
Fr. 126 $20 1863 Legal Tender PMG Fine 12 Net.According to Track & Price, only three serial number one Friedberg 126s have reached the auction block and all three graded lower than this accurately graded PMG Fine 12 Net example. PMG has commented, "Repaired and Faded Seal," both of which are wholly accurate. The all-important serial number 1 is bold and clear. Unlike other large type notes, multiple serial number ones exist in the 1862 and 1863 series as the serial numbers only ran six digits and after 999999 the notes reverted to number 1 and the series number increased by one.
