Fr. 1225h $10,000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG Choice Fine 15 Net.
This unredeemable note is unusual for a Fr. 1225h as it is not payable to the Federal Reserve Board, but to the Third National Bank of St. Louis. Usually, Fr. 1225a through 1225g are the Friedberg numbers that are payable to individual banks. Since, this note is not payable to the Federal Reserve Board, it lacks the standard "Treasurer of the U.S." cancellation that consists of five lines. In its stead, it has a roulette cancellation of only three lines. We also see that "Assistant" of "Assistant Treasurer" is not blacked out. Our experience with Fr. 1225h is that "Assistant" is more than likely to be blacked out. Overall, it is a very interesting Fr. 1225h. This circulated example has some stains, splits, and minor residue.
