    Description

Fr. 1225b $10,000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG About Uncirculated 53.
Only the eighth of this number to become part of the Track & Price Census. The note is uniface and has the typical mixture of punch hole cancellations in the usual locations. Earlier Friedberg subset numbers for this design are often found payable to national banks. The bank in this particular case is the Corn Exchange National Bank of Philadelphia. The bank name, city, and date have been rubber stamped on the printed lines at bottom center. This piece has nice color even with its light staining and remains a desirable note of this unredeemable design. We previously auctioned an example just one serial number removed from the current offering in PCGS 53 for $3,525 in August 2015.
