    Description

Fr. 1225 $10000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. These uniface notes were printed for use between Federal Reserve banks and most came into the public's hands as the result of a 1935 post office fire and the ensuing three-stooges-like incident as hundreds of these blew along the street in the wind. This note has a cancellation stamp indicating that it is "PAYABLE ONLY TO THE TREASURER OF THE US OR A FEDERAL RESERVE BANK." It bears the Teehee-Burke signature combination and it has incredible margins and perfect color. Most likely all that prevented the EPQ designation is a light waterstain that is visible only on the blank back.
