New to the Census Fr. 1219e $1,000 1907 Gold

Fr. 1219e $1,000 1907 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 25.
A new note that raises the census to just four dozen pieces. The number for collectors is actually smaller as four are locked away in the collection of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and one is held by the ANA Museum. This $1,000 is an evenly circulated note with fewer folds than what is usually seen for this third party grade. It may have survived for us to enjoy today because it was a vault cash note for many years. Thus, it did not pick up a lot of folds, but was often counted. The minor restoration involves the sealing of small edge tears that are only seen when the note is "candled" before a light source.
