    Fr. 1216b $500 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
    Four full margins frame this attractive, mid-grade $500 Gold. The colors of the seal, serial numbers, and wheaten-gold underprint on the face are bright, with a back design to match. PCGS indicates some minor edge repairs, which were expertly executed, and none of which touches the design, along with a repair left of center, which is barely visible even when searched for. Last year, we sold another PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30 graded note with the same type of restoration work which realized nearly $14,000. With an improved market for large size type notes, we see no reason why this piece will not reach or exceed...
