    Colorful $500 1882 Gold Certificate

Fr. 1216 $500 1882 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 30.
The Lyons-Burke signature combination was the first to grace the 1882 $500 Gold Certificates. Though the print run of 128,000 notes was the largest of the three signature combinations featured, this has the fewest number of notes known to collectors, right around two dozen in total. None of the survivors are known in grades above Extremely Fine, and the two in the census at that level have yet to meet the scrutiny of PMG and PCGS. The colors on front and back are ideal for the grade, surrounded by solid margins. Aside from a minor repair in the right margin and a pinhole, the paper is nice for the grade, a perfect palette for the perfectly printed design details.
