    Very Rare High Grade Fr. 1212 - Possibly Finest In Collectors' Hands

    Fr. 1212 $100 1882 Gold Certificate About New. This rare Gold Certificate is very likely the finest known example of its Friedberg number in collectors' hands. About three dozen pieces are known, the great majority of which grade Fine and under. The single uncirculated example reported to exist is permanently impounded in the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Another AU was reported by Tom Denly in 1990, and a side-by-side comparison would be needed to ascertain finest known. This note has huge margins, perfect original paper surfaces, 100% flashy bright colors and spectacular eye appeal. It's a note that deserves a home in the very finest of collections.
