Fr. 1200 $50 1922 Mule Gold Certificate Very Fine Radar. Not a lot of attention is paid to Large Size mules, but this certainly is one, and, we believe, a rather scarce one. The mule variety is identified by the back plate number being in the position that was used for the Burke-signed notes, that is in the bottom right center near the "ca" of "America." The plate position for the White-signed notes is supposed to be on the opposite side of the central back design, by the "of" in "of America." Information on and illustrations of these mule varieties can be found in Doug Murray's Comprehensive Catalog of Large Size Star Notes. The information is the same for both Stars and non-Stars. This note was wet long ago to try to remove some light soiling and staining. Interestingly this note also sports a neat "Radar" serial number.
