The assigned 64 grade appears to be perfectly accurate, but we are a bit more suspicious of the "Retouched" comment that appears on the back, as the paper is clearly original and we can find no trace of whatever the PMG graders saw. While these Technicolor $20s are certainly not rare in the true sense of the word, they are extraordinarily popular, and this one has very nearly all the attributes of a Perfect Gem. The red seal and serial numbers contrast beautifully with the bright yellow tint that has given this note its Technicolor nickname. While we agree with the grade, we have seen any number of identical appearing examples in 65 holders. This note is an old friend, which was sold in 1999 by the Pre-Heritage CAA. Unlike the majority of the high-grade examples, this one is not from a run of notes. It is a random survivor in high grade, which is most unusual for this type as almost all high-grade 1180s come from the serial number run that begins A4043...
