    Description

Fr. 1169a $10 1907 Gold Certificate Gem New. This scarce note has huge margins, perfect colors and great eye appeal. The beautifully bright orange back is centered every bit as well as the broadly margined face. Fr. 1169a, the variety with the March 4, 1907 Act date, is far scarcer than Fr. 1169, the same signature combination with the 1882 Act date. Census numbers indicate a disparity of about two to one, with approximately 30 Fr. 1169a's and just more than 60 Fr, 1169's. CAA's records show an even greater difference: we've sold over two dozen 1169's and only eight 1169a's. By any standards, this is a very scarce note, and it's an absolutely beautiful example.
