Handsome, Strong Very Fine 1861 Demand Note

Fr. 7 $10 1861 Demand Note Very Fine. Rather closely margined, as is almost always the case for this type, but very attractive, and with extremely strong, dark signatures. The note is totally original, and lacking the edge splits and assorted problems that usually plague this type. All the ink colors are fully bright, and the note shows no heavy folds or excessive soil. Take the time to examine this piece, even if you have been looking for a higher-grade $10 Demand Note. This note is far nicer in appearance than the typical Very Fine. It's one of the more handsome $10 Demand Notes that we've had the pleasure of handling. From our Jan. '97 sale where it realized $4950.
