    Brightly Colored 1862 $2 A Rare Problem Free Example

    Fr. 41 $2 1862 Legal Tender PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
    A very common note in low grade with over 300 examples seen by PCGS. At and above this level, there are only a handful of notes known at both services combined. These notes circulated during the earliest years of our nation's experimentation with paper money. The quality of the paper was quite poor, even by standards of just a few years later, and even many of the uncirculated examples show aging, edge splits, and other problems. This note is perfect in every way save for its centering, which, while more than adequate, holds it to the accurately assigned 64PPQ grade.
