    Handsome Black Back Large Brown Seal 1880 $10 Silver Certificate

    Fr. 289 $10 1880 Silver Certificate PCGS Choice New 63.
    We feel the numerical grade is exactly correct, but are a bit puzzled by the lack of a PPQ comment. The original embossing is clearly visible and we see no reason to have deprived this beautiful note from the premium tier. PCGS has evaluated 55 Friedberg 289s, with only six at and above this level. The only recent comparable Track & Price example was a PMG 63 which we auction in September of 2016 for $18,800.
