    Immaculate $5 Educational

    Fr. 268 $5 1896 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.
    The $5 Educational design is one of the most appreciated in terms of its artistic quality, though its edge to edge complexity often hides important attributes common to only high grade notes. In this particular case, the design does little to overshadow the bold embossing and bright, fresh paper. The inks are deeply printed and still finely detailed, with a cherry red seal at bottom left falling off the note. Collectors have been afforded few Superb Gem offerings of this Friedberg in the last couple of years, with the three most recent examples all topping the $30,000 mark.
