Lovely PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ Windom
Fr. 246 $2 1891 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.A lovely Windom Deuce that has terrific centering of both sides, excellent eye appeal and perfect paper originality with embossing that can be seen right through the PCGS holder. William Windom (who was actually the grandfather of the actor by the same name) served twice as Secretary of the Treasury: 1881 though 1884, and again from 1889 through 1891. This is a type that lasted through only two signature combinations, and appearances of high-end examples are becoming more widely spaced as time goes by. In fact, according to Track & Price, it has been three years since an example at this grade level has been offered at auction.
