PMG 68 EPQ Fr. 243 - The Highest Yet Graded
Fr. 243 $2 1886 Silver Certificate PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 68 EPQ. This magnificent Hancock is in one of the earlier PMG holders where the "Exceptional Paper Quality" comment is only on the back--they happily reholder these should the new owner desire. We sold this note once before in January 2007 when it realized $19,550. PMG has graded 26 Fr. 243's with only this note at the 68 level. By comparison, they have graded 87 Fr. 242's, which is the other signature combination for this Large Seal Hancock. Of those 87 Fr. 242's thirty-nine graded 65 and above compared with only four Fr. 243's. A highly important note at this grade level.Auction Info
