    Third Offering in 44 Years

Fr. 196a $10 1863 Interest Bearing Note PMG Very Fine 20.
The earliest appearance of this note that we know about was when Amarillo paper money dealer M.H. Loewenstern had it listed with its serial number for $1,100 in his advertisement in the March-April 1975 Whole Number 56 Paper Money Society of Paper Money Collectors. It would not resurface until bought by our consignor at auction in 2013. This is one of only 31 serials documented in Track & Price for this rare Friedberg number. This example has minor repairs and has been trimmed, but the color is nice for the grade and there are fewer folds than what is usually seen at this grade.
