    $500 1918 Kansas City FRN

Fr. 1132-J $500 1918 Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 Net.
It has been nine years since we last auctioned a Fr. 1132-J. That earlier PCGS VF 30 piece went for $17,250 in September 2006. The current note is a much nicer example even with the minor restoration. We also were able to learn that this is the highest graded Fr. 1132-J to appear at auction in almost eleven years. Any large size $500 is rare save for New York and Chicago. That is certainly true for Kansas City, as tonight's offering is just one of 14 documented.
