Fr. 1133-C $1,000 1918 Federal Reserve Note PMG About
Uncirculated 53 EPQ.A rare note in every respect is offered in this lot. Only 12,800 Series 1918 $1,000 notes were printed and issued by the Philadelphia district bearing the Burke-Glass signature combination. The piece in this lot comes from a very small run of AU and Unc examples that account for a little more than half of the 14 surviving examples that are listed in Track & Price. This is our first offering of a Fr. 1133-C in five years and the nicest in over seven years. It is an attractive note as it has been able to retain its full margins, dark inks, white paper, and exceptional paper quality. With the light handling this piece has been subjected to it appears to face up as a fully Uncirculated note. High denomination examples such as this are always in demand as the combination of rarity and grade are quite evident.
