Boldly Printed San Francisco District 1915 $5 FRBN

Fr. 808 $5 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Choice New 63.
White paper and bold inks are noticed immediately. The note depicts Abraham Lincoln on the front, an engraving of Columbus sighting land on the left, and Pilgrims landing at right. The signature pairs of Teehee-Burke and Clerk-Lynch are observed. If not for the width of the top margin, a Gem grade would easily have been achieved. San Francisco FRBNs (Fr. 808 and 809) bear a date of May 20, 1914, rather than the standard May 18, 1914 used on the notes of all other districts. Track & Price has recorded a mere 36 examples of this Friedberg number. Attention-grabbing, this note is sure to delight bidders.
