Nearly Gem Three-Digit Fr. 757 $2 "Battleship" Note

Fr. 757 $2 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
One of the iconic, popular United States large size types. All 12 districts issued Series of 1918 $2 Federal Reserve Bank Notes. The face layout is similar to the $1 FRBN, except that Charles Burt's Thomas Jefferson portrait replaces that of Washington at the left. The blue treasury seal and serial number overprints are continued. The green backs featuring the battleship New York as engraved C. M. Chalmers are among the most popular with collectors. A three-digit $2 Cleveland FRBN combining the Teehee-Burke treasury combination with the Baxter and Fancher bank signatures. The face has perfect centering, and the back is just about ideal. Mike bought this in 1986, and it is cataloged for auction for the first time. A lovely "Battleship" type note and a near Gem.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
