    Description

Choice Fr. 755 $2 Philadelphia Note Ex: Rickey Collection

Fr. 755 $2 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ.
This $2 Philadelphia FRBN is one of the scarcest "Battleships," and this representative boasts a Rickey Collection pedigree. The signature combination is Elliott-Burke and Dyer-Passmore. Track & Price documents only 55 examples; the vast majority are well circulated, and only two are Uncirculated. This is one of the finest offered in the past several years. The creases are hard, but it is a well-margined and colorful note. Mike acquired this example from our 2011 FUN auction for $1,762.50. In August 2003 it was sold uncertified by Lyn Knight for $5,750. A significant $2 FRBN with strong price records.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
