    Description

Extremely Rare and Choice Fr. 735* $1 Minneapolis FRBN "Star" Replacement Note

Fr. 735* $1 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Extremely Fine 40.
This is a very scarce $1 Minneapolis district note with Cook and Young signatures, and traditionally a key 1918 $1 FRBN. Most importantly, this is a star replacement note. Track & Price reports three examples, and the same number is cited in Chambliss. Our auction archives show no records of an Fr. 735,* and the much lesser grade piece sold by Lyn Knight in June 2015 realized $3,525. This is a gorgeous note with ample margins and perfect centering. It is better than most regular issued notes known. A tremendous opportunity as Mike purchased this in 1986. Our estimate may prove conservative after the hammer falls.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
