Hessler 242D Fr. 4 $5 1861 Demand Note PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.A wonderful proof note with a very illustrious pedigree coming to us by way of the 52 Collection where it realized $16,100. It initially resided in the Rasmussen Collection eventually being sold in the Herman Halpern & Gerald O. Warner Collections in 1997 and ending up in Arthur M. Kagin's holdings after that sale. It is a lovely, well printed note printed on India paper mounted on cardstock. The green protector is especially vivid.
