Description

$1,000 Treasury Coupon Bond 1967-72 Issued Nov. 1945 Due Dec. 1972 Schwan 292 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
A bearer bond sold as part of the war bond program even though there is not an obvious connection. The date for this example was shortly after World War II. It has a face redemption value of $1,000 as all of its coupons have been redeemed. Very few of these bonds are in collector's hands due to them being redeemed. Much information for this bond type is lacking as stated in World War II United States Savings Bonds and Stamps by Fred Schwan, et al. Pinholes are present.
