Description

United States of America War Bounty Scrip $100 May 7, 1849 Hessler X117B
A second example of these exceedingly rare pieces, this war bounty scrip was due to Henry Anderson. As seen on the back, Henry assigned the note to another party for value received and it was witnessed by a notary in Crawford County, Arkansas on August 17, 1849. The notary's seal is also present. As with the previous piece, the left margin is missing and it has been both hole punch and cross-cut cancelled. PCGS assigned a grade of Very Fine 30 to this example.
