    Description

Joseph Bryan 214 Fulton Street Brooklyn, NY 50 cts. PE178. New.
Bryan was a clothing manufacturer and merchant whose envelope reads "Clothing Establishment." The envelope is fully new and perfect though the flap is closed, either stuck or lightly glued. The back at the top of the flap indicates this was manufactured by T.R. Dawley and repeats the "50" denomination. Reed indicates 5 to 10 are known spread across five numbers. PE178 is not listed in Friedberg, but is in Reed's book on page 134. This pale yellow variety is considered as non-collectible.
