Ex: Schermerhorn Fr. 6 $10 1861 Demand Note

Fr. 6 $10 1861 Demand Note PCGS Very Fine 30.
A Fr. 6 that has been residing in a collection for the last 20 years since its previous auction appearance. Its life before that was as part of Dallas oilman Robert F. Schermerhorn's Collection during the 1950s. It then became part of the Harry Bass Research Foundation until it was auctioned in 1999. The folds on the face are all light and the back has the look of a higher grade. We are able to view the well executed restorations mentioned on the third party label when we "candle" the note before a light source. There are only 45 of this number that are recorded in the Track & Price Census and only one other example in that census has a grade equal to the piece in this lot, with none higher.
