Attractive $5 Demand Note - Payable at Philadelphia

Fr. 2 $5 1861 Demand Note PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35.
In another auction appearance, we waxed lyrical about this note, "One of the finest $5 Demand Notes we have had the pleasure of handling. The note has a total of four folds, but each of them needs to be searched for before they can be found. The margins are incredible for the type, the colors are absolutely perfect, and the note has signatures that give the appearance of having just been scribed. This cataloger has always considered Demand Notes to be one of the most interesting and one of the most undervalued major areas of U.S. Currency. There are very few examples of this type that come anywhere near this piece for condition." Since that appearance it was sent to PCGS where it was assigned the Apparent grade for minor restorations...or more accurately, a most trivial closed pinhole near the upper right corner of the note.
