C.C. Shelley 64 Barclay St. (New York) 25 CENTS. PE633. Choice About New.
Reed and Friedberg do not exactly mesh on this number. Friedberg calls PE633 black on white laid and that is the only 25¢ they list. Reed lists PE633 as black on white which this is and PE634 as black on white laid. Friedberg skips over 634. This is PE633 per Reed and is in fact the plate note for that example. It is also the plate note in Friedberg though their description of 633 is really PE634. It is important to get these right as PE633 is unique and mixing it with 634 makes a big difference, as that is also unique. Stuff happens. Extraordinary quality and one of only three known for the issuer each a unique variety
