    Description

Evenly Circulated Aug. 15, 1864 $20 Compound Interest Treasury Note

Fr. 191a $20 1864 Compound Interest Treasury Note PMG Very Fine 20.
PMG has commented "Minor Repairs" which is accurate but as far as we can see, the repairs are simply of minor edge splits. PMG has not bestowed the net designation which further attests to the very minor status of the repairs. The bronze overprint has darkened and turned green although the paper remains firm and the color has not penetrated the back. In addition to being a better type, this fantastic note traces its pedigree back to our Tom Flynn offering of April 2008. A note which may possibly surpass its estimate.
