Fr. 190b $10 1864 Compound Interest Treasury Note Very Fine-Extremely Fine. For sheer eye appeal, in spite of a small amount of circulation, this is among the very finest examples of its type to exist. It is the only specimen of this note we can ever recall seeing where the bronze overprint has its full flashy original color without a hint of tone or discoloration. The face and back ink colors are also as issued, with no muting whatsoever caused by time or circulation. The note is 100% original, with no disturbance to its unmolested surfaces. In spite of the fact that its technical grade is only Very Fine-Extremely Fine, it carries a visual impact that this series always lacks. The light pen endorsement on the back of the note is almost lost in the intricacy of the design. It reads "E.B. April 21st 1865" which was one week to the day after Lincoln's assassination.
