1907 $10 Gold Certificate, Fr-1171, VF. A solid note that has strong color and crisp, original paper. We mention original paper to distinguish notes like this from the many flattened and processed notes that we see offered today. Regardless of how nice a processed note may appear, it is that, processed and "improved," and not in the same league as an original note that shows its circulation. The note is crisp and clean with excellent color and minimal soil. The margins are usually fuller on this series than those found on the 1922 series Gold Certificates. This series has always been priced below the more common 1922 series, even though it is a rarer note, especially in higher grades. We feel that this trend should change as more collectors come to realize the comparative rarity of these notes.
