    Description

    Green Fessenden Proof Back

Milton 3P25F.1e 25¢ Third Issue PMG About Uncirculated 55 Net.
Listed in Milt's encyclopedia as unique, and we cannot recall having seen another. The Net grade has been assigned for some stains, which we do not believe to be from mounting, although that is what PMG calls them in their "Previously Mounted, Stains" comment. They appear to us to be foxing or possibly a rust transfer and are likely removable. The note itself shows good original embossing, the print quality is razor sharp, and, as would be expected for a genuine proof, there is no bronzing. When we last sold this note in September of 2017, it realized over $1400.
