    No Signatures Red Back Spinner

Fr.1328-30 Type 50c Third Issue Spinner Very Choice New. An unsigned red back Spinner that Tom acquired out of last May's Stack's Sale for $5,000 in heated bidding competition. To our knowledge, this is the only known example of its type and it was likely a presentation piece rather than an error. It is listed as Milton 3R50.14c based on its appearance in the Wilcox Sale in 1903. Whether that was this piece or another, identical piece is unknown. The colors are perfect and the original embossing is pronounced. The note is a Superb Gem save for its back centering, which just touches the left edge, and an easily removable pencilled, "49c" in the upper left corner of the back. A wonderful item.
