    Likely Finest Known Fr. 1367

Fr. 1367 Milton 3R50.11a 50¢ Third Issue Justice Very Choice New. Beautifully bright, this is almost a dead ringer to the Milt Friedberg piece. That note had the same back centering, the same large top and bottom margins and a very similar press-bed smear at the left edge of the face. This piece, unlike the Friedberg example, has a right face margin along its entire length that never touches the frame line. Milt's note was the only Fr. 1367 we've ever sold that graded as high as Choice New, and this note is clearly its superior. On top of this piece's beautiful colors and exceptional centering, it also boasts bright bronze and obvious deep, original embossing. Milt's piece realized over $3,600 on an estimate of $2,500-up eight years ago. This piece should more than double that.
