    Description

Fr. 1297 25¢ Third Issue PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
The only 66 of this Friedberg number graded by either service with, of course, nothing higher. These fiber-paper Fessendens are scarce in all grades and extremely rare as full Gems. PCGS has graded only a single 65 below this lone 66. The note is a beauty with extraordinary bright color for a fiber-paper piece. Blazing bright bronze on both sides and unusually broad margins. A pretty good case could be made that this note is undergraded by a full point. As an added bonus the full plate number 7 appears in the lower left corner of the note.
